First stop: Sorrento
Set in a picturesque position on a tufaceous terrace overlooking the Gulf of Naples, Sorrento is the most famous town on the Sorrento coast. Known as a holiday resort since ancient times, Sorrento fascinates tourists and visitors with its breathtaking views, the landscape of gardens and citrus groves, the marinas, the charming old town, an interesting historical and religious architecture, the ancient tradition of inlaying and of laces.
Your starting point will probably be Piazza Lauro, the most modern square. You can continue along Corso Italia until you reach Piazza Tasso, the main square of Sorrento. Continuing along Viale Enrico Caruso you can look out from the railing to take a look at the Vallone dei Mulini below.
Piazza Tasso was in fact built over one of the many "valleys", small canyons, which descended from the hills of Sorrento towards the sea.
Piazza Tasso is the right place to stop for a good coffee or an aperitif, choose the bar that most inspires you and sit and watch the stroll.
Absolutely to visit is the cloister of 1300 often themed photographic exhibitions are organized.
Second stop: Positano
it’s time to dedicate yourself to visiting Positano, a magical village overlooking the sea that develops on narrow and twisted alleys perfumed with salt and lemons.
Visit the historic center, with the Church of Santa Maria Assunta (whose dome can be seen from all over the town) and the remains of the Roman Villa of Positano, known as "the little Pompeii of the Amalfi Coast".
You cannot leave Positano without first having done some shopping in the artisan shops and characteristic shops of the town. Among the most characteristic local products there are handmade leather sandals, Vietri majolica and the famous pieces of Positano, unmistakable with their colors and patterns.
Lunch break in Positano or Amalfi
Whether you decide to stop for lunch in Positano or Amalfi, you will have no problem eating well. The Amalfi Coast is also famous for the quality of its restaurants and the raw materials with which the chefs prepare their creations.
Third stop: Amalfi
Amalfi, a set of white houses that climb the Lattari Mountains and drop sheer to the sea. It is perhaps the richest and most interesting town on the coast from a historical point of view. It was the oldest of the Maritime Republics, and traces of its past are still clearly visible in the small historic center squeezed between the sea and the hills. For centuries, Amalfi has enchanted visitors with its fascinating but genuine soul and its distinctly Mediterranean character but full of contaminations, a very rich heritage of the passage of Normans and Saracens.
We advise you to start your visit from the central Cathedral of Sant’Andrea, with the Museum and the beautiful Cloister of Paradise. Then continue into the Amalfi alleys, with a quiet walk to the Vagliendola district where you can visit the Paper Museum, which tells of the centuries-old Amalfi paper mill tradition
After discovering the beauties of the Amalfi Coast, eating a delicious homemade ice cream and shopping in the picturesque boutiques and numerous shops, our tour comes to an end.
